Valentine's Day : Quotations

Love is a smoke made with the fume of sighs. Being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers' eyes. Being vexed, a sea nourished with lovers' tears. What is it else? A madness most discreet, a choking gall and a preserving sweet.

-By William Shakespeare

Age does not protect you from love. But love, to some extent, protects you from age.

-By Anais Nin

Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.

-By Aristotle

Love is life. All, everything that I understand, I understand only because I love. Everything is, everything exists, only because I love.

-Leo Tolstoy

Love doesn't make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.

The city of lights....Paris

= The city =

My dream city is Paris!!! And now you’ll see why…

Paris France, the city of lights, is home to one of Europe’s most recognized monuments, perhaps the world’s most beautiful museum, and a cultural town of food, drink, nightlife, and sights. Paris is the capital of France.

Facts about France: Paris Monuments & Culture

  • The Eiffel tower tops out at over 1,000 feet, containing 2 restaurants, a souvenir shop, a post office (for that one of a kind postmark), snack bar, and a viewing area.
  • Notre Dame Cathedral, France's most famous cathedral, was started in 1163 and completed in 1330. Pay homage to French author Victor Hugo, and ascend the bell tower for a look at the gargoyles from The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
  • The Louvre museum is one of the largest museums in the world, with over 35,000 pieces of art, housed in a gigantic, 60,000 square feet building. Its most famous piece is Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa.
  • French Cuisine is an exciting and rich experience. There are dozens of different sizes and types of bread. There are hundreds of varieties of cheese produced all over France. Then, of course, come the wine products in seven distinct regions.

= The Eiffel Tower =

The Eiffel Tower, an icon of Paris, is a wonder of design and structure, and an impressive sight worth getting close to. The tower has spectacular views of Paris. Return at night with a bottle of Merlot to watch the spectacular light display. The Eiffel Tower tops out at over 1,000 feet, containing 2 restaurants, a souvenir shop, a post office (for that one of a kind postmark), snack bar, and a viewing area.

The world famous Paris tower is designed by Gustave Eiffel for the Universal Exposition of 1889 and was the tallest structure in the world until 1930, when New York’s Chrysler building surpassed it. The Paris tower faced criticism, especially from the artistic community of Paris, calling the structure a “truly tragic street lamp.” Guy de Maupassant ate lunch on the lower level of the Paris tower everyday because it was the only view of the city in which he couldn’t see it. The critics were slowly silenced as 2 million visitors came to see the tower in 1889. Today, the Eiffel Tower is an icon of Paris, and is embraced by the city.

The Eiffel Tower Paris is still a marvel of structure and design. Constructed for the World’s Exhibition of 1889, the Eiffel Tower Paris was slow to be embraced, but is now a beloved symbol of Paris, and one of Europe, if not the worlds most recognizable.

= Food =

Eating in France is an exciting and rich experience. Food in France has many different styles. There are staples, like bread, cheese, and coffee. Bread, especially the baguette, is very common, but there are dozens of different styles and sizes of bread. Each with their own name, own texture, and varied use. As it is with cheese. Then of course there is wine, produced in the seven distinct wine regions of France. Food in France goes so far beyond the basics, where sometimes a simple meal can stretch on for hours or maybe a dinner that last past midnight. Such is the passion of the French palate.

Food in Paris is not restricted to traditional French delights. Cuisine from all over the world can be found in Paris, including Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern, and other international tastes.

Parisians take their meals seriously, and when dining in Paris it helps to show up in a relaxed frame of mind, and not be in too much of a hurry. Plan your meal times, don’t rush, and dining in Paris and France will be a pleasant and tasty experience.

Here are some of their meals:

  • Goose foie gras terrine
  • Duck foie gras
  • Clementine gratin with a Grand Marnier sabayon
  • King size curved tiles cookies
  • Chocolate Marquise
  • Glazes loin of lamb
  • Chicken liver parfait with mushroom coulis
  • Roast Turkey with chestnuts
  • Barbarie duck stew with blackcurrants
  • Parcel of leek and smoked salmon

And many others meals, which are cooked from the professional cookers, or prepared just from the home people.

Interview with Moving Picture Company

IT-Enquirer: What do you need 3D animation software for?

MPC: I use 3D animation software to create visual effects for live action and stop motion films.

IT-Enquirer: With which tools (not necessarily software only) did you start your career?

MPC: I started with Alias PowerAnimator on an SGI Indigo back in 1994 and when Alias launched the beta-test program of Maya, I was quick to switch to this new revolutionary 3D animation package.

IT-Enquirer: Can you name a few projects you worked on?

MPC: Gaston’s War, Troy, Harry Potter 1, 2 and 3, Kingdom Of Heaven and currently Tim Burton’s The Corpse Bride.

IT-Enquirer: Do you use Maya on Windows, Linux, Unix, or on Mac? Why?

MPC: I use Maya on Linux because it can deal with large image files and huge sequences a lot better than a Windows or Mac setup can. Also, I rely a lot on shell scripting and automated tools across the vast Linux network or workstations, servers and render farm.

IT-Enquirer: What makes Maya Unlimited your software of choice above other professional 3D packages?

MPC: It definitely is one of the best and established 3D packages out there. There has rarely been an occasion where Maya wouldn’t be able to deal with the often incredibly ludicrous VFX tasks at hand. Sure, other packages could do the majority too, but I have a history with Alias’ software and that helps!

IT-Enquirer: What do you like most about Maya?

MPC: The fact that so much of it is open and accessible from the outside using plugins and scripted tools. It’s easy for Technical Directors to use due to it’s extensive MEL language. It can easily be integrated into a pipeline that already exists. Initially it wasn’t very good for advanced keyframe tasks, but now it is way ahead of the competition. Recently it has opened up it rendering architecture so other software can be linked with Maya, producing even better stunning visual effects!

IT-Enquirer: What do you dislike most about Maya?

MPC: With so many companies using it in such different industries (games, automotive, TV, film, etc) it is difficult to focus the product in a certain area. Maya has a vast array of tools and features, but perhaps it is spread just a bit thin across all industries, so anyone using it for a particular application might find that it misses out in certain areas. With Alias having such a large user base, it is difficult to get bugs fixed quickly and features added or to obtain support from the people in the know.

IT-Enquirer: What’s on your wishlist?

MPC: 1. The Maya Open Source version. A cut-down version of Maya with just basic functionality released under the Open Source Initiative. I believe such a version will see an evolution (and revolution) beyond anyones dreams.

2. The option to create better and more user friendly UI’s by offering a choice of widget packages and the ability to create your own widgets through an API.

IT-Enquirer: How do you integrate Maya with other products to reach the result you want? What’s your workflow?

MPC: Mainly by way of the Maya API. It’s is easy enough to communicate to other in-house programs and since Maya scene files can be saved and read as simple ASCII files, it is easy enough to translate data between various packages.

My best 2 minutes

…I’m seating on the grass, and I’m wearing sports wear. Next to me, and around me, are all my friends and the people that I love, and care about them. I’m always a rounded by them, but yesterday, in a way it touched me…Because of the opportunity to be with them on days like yesterday (yesterday was first of may), and to have them in my life every day, it makes me so happy, and lucky person…And I realized that they are the reason, and they are the only one, who are worth it, to be a live. And I realized that the money is not the most important thing in the life...
…And I stand up, and start playing volleyball with them. And that was my best 3 minutes yesterday, that I'll remember all my life...
